Today a billion people all over the world lack sufficient clean, safe water. In fact, this deficiency kills one person, typically a child, every 15 seconds or over 2 million people each year.
Many international organizations and experts say the largest impact of climate change on humans will not be on temperature, but rather the impacts on water resources. There are so many places that already have water with insufficient supply, poor quality, excessive costs, or are unsustainable. Even a little additional degradation from climate change impacts might well make these serious problems into full-scale disasters.
This web site exists to help explain the details of why and how this impact of climate on water happens. It is hoped that learning and understanding the real mechanisms of climate impacts can allow all of us to work and prepare for such challenges.
